OET For healthcare professionals, the OET , or Occupational English Test, is a language assessment. It evaluates a healthcare professional's ability to communicate in English in order to register and work in an English-speaking setting. The test is made to evaluate a healthcare professional's language proficiency in a variety of communication scenarios, such as producing reports, participating in professional discussions, and having medical consultations. It has four subtests: Speaking, Listening, Writing, and Reading. Both an online and a paper-based version of the test are offered. Employers and regulatory bodies in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Singapore, and Namibia accept the OET.
